With bushfires shredding Australia's koala habitat and the species now officially classified as endangered both across Australia and in New South Wales, community support for the work of Save Sydney's Koalas is more critical than ever.
The recent bushfires resulted in significant fauna loss in the Blue Mountains and it is estimated that some 10,000 koalas may have been killed. The chlamydia free status of the South-Western Sydney koala population – the only chlamydia-free population of any significant size left in New South Wales - makes them even more critically important to the future of the species.
Save Sydney’s Koalas is a small but committed group of citizens focused on saving this precious south-west Sydney Koala population. The more community support Save Sydney's Koalas can gather, the greater the chance of saving these precious animals for future generations.
